Aftercare Advice Following Earwax Removal

1. Maintain Ear Hygiene: To keep your ears clean and healthy, avoid inserting cotton swabs or other objects into the ear canal. This can push wax further in or cause damage to the delicate ear structures. Instead, focus on regular external cleaning of the ear using a damp cloth.

2. Use Earol Olive Oil Spray: To prevent rapid wax buildup and maintain the health of your ear canal, we recommend using Earol Olive oil spray as a weekly maintenance dose. This helps keep the wax soft and facilitates its natural expulsion.

3. Avoid Excessive Water Exposure: Minimize prolonged exposure of your ears to water especially in the first 24 hours following earwax removal, when bathing or swimming. If water does enter your ears, gently tilt your head to allow it to drain out naturally. Avoid using forceful water jets or earplugs that may push water deeper into the ear canal.

4. Protect Your Ears: When engaging in activities with high noise levels, such as concerts or machinery operation, protect your ears with earplugs or earmuffs. Prolonged exposure to loud sounds can contribute to hearing loss and other ear-related issues.

5. Recognize Warning Signs: Be aware of any changes in your ear health, such as pain, itching, discharge, or a feeling of fullness. If you experience any unusual symptoms or concerns, seek medical advice promptly.

6. Follow-Up Appointments: Schedule a follow-up appointment with us within 6 months to a year after the earwax removal procedure. Regular check-ups help ensure the long-term health of your ears and identify any potential issues early on.

Remember, everyone's ears are unique, and individual circumstances may vary. If you have any specific concerns or questions regarding your post-procedure care, don't hesitate to reach out to our team for guidance and support.

If wax removal was unsuccessful or not advised

If complete earwax removal wasn't possible today, you may have been advised to repeat a course of ear drops to help soften the wax. Its essential that you carefully follow the instructions for using these in order for the wax to soften, increasing your chance of our earwax removal service being a success. We will have given you advice on the next steps if we felt you need to see a GP.
